DWGC Church Planting — Diocese of the Western Gulf Coast

We plant liturgically robust, missionally engaged, and joyfully hospitable churches.

The Diocese of the Western Gulf Coast (DWGC) desires to saturate Texas and Louisiana with liturgically robust, missionally engaged, and joyfully hospitable Anglican Churches committed to Jesus and His mission in all of life.

We are looking for called and qualified clergy and/or seminary graduates to participate in a two year Church Planting Residency Program.

Each resident will be placed in a local parish where he will serve full-time, gaining experience in a broad range of pastoral and leadership responsibilities while receiving the support of a local church family, experienced clergy, and mentors. Upon completion, Lord willing, residents will be sent out to plant within the DWGC.

Are you interested in planting a church with the DWGC?

Planting a church is a challenging task, but the Anglican Church in North America is eager to identify, raise up, and send out church planters. Our hope is to see Anglican church plants become healthy churches that go on to multiply more churches.

This process starts with assessment.

The assessment process is intended for those who hope to begin planting a new church in the next 2-3 years. But keep in mind, clarity, calling, and gifting are more important than any predetermined timeline. As Anglicans, we plant churches in humble submission to ecclesiastical authority.
